Treasured Memories Of Our Beloved Alice Fay Fletcher Every life is precious to God, so much so that He chose to dispatch an Angel to claim the soul of our beloved, Alice Fay Fletcher on Sunday, October 9, 2022 in Texas City, Texas. Alice was born March 16, 1967 in Delhi, Louisiana to Leonard Burton and Dorothy Elnora Fletcher. She was delivered in the family’s home by a midwife. Alice received her formal education in the Texas City Independent School District where she graduated from Texas City High School. During her high school years, she was an active participant in volleyball and softball. After graduation, she furthered her education at College of the Mainland, where she graduated with an Associate degree. Alice accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with Mt. Paran Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City where she remained until adulthood. She later united with Grace and Mercy Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clayton Thomas, where she remained until the Lord called her home. Alice was a special kind of lady, always willing to help anyone she could. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She loved computer games, softball and coaching basketball and volleyball. Alice was employed as a Home Health Provider from 2008-2019; and was also a Substitute Teacher for Texas City ISD. Alice most treasured gifts from God were her sons and her grandchildren, who were her heart. She loved them unconditionally and supported them in all they did, Awaiting her heavenly arrival are her mother, Dorothy E. Scott; father, Leonard Burton; father who raised her, Herbert Lawson, Sr.; step-father, Sydney Scott; brother, Ray Anthony Fletcher; sister, Ollie Mary Bridges; and grandson, Kadren Johnson. A lifetime of treasured memories will forever linger in the hearts of her loving and devoted sons, Kerry Johnson (Ravyn Johnson, daughter-in-law), Emery Scott and James Scott; grandchildren, Keri Johnson, Amorhie Thomas, Kroix Johnson and Bayhli Henderson; sisters and brothers, Doris George, Herbert L. Lawson, Linda Fairly, Connie Clark, Kenny Clark and Stevie Clark; devoted extended family members, Melvin Williams, Jacqueline “Monique” Dowell, La Tisha Woodkins Payne and Alicia Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will always love her.
