Angeline Hill was born on December 31, 1940, to Clarence and Evelyn Winfield Hill. She grew up in League City, TX, with nine siblings. She attended school in Dickinson, TX, where she graduated from Dunbar High School in 1959. While attending high school, she was a member of the choir, a cheerleader for the football team and a member of the Little Red Coat’s Gang. In school she met Leo Bookman, and they married on April 16, 1959. Angeline and Leo were married for 63 years. They are the proud parents of five children… and loving guardians to her niece, Carol Ann Hill. Angie understood the importance of education. She attended Durham Business College in Pasadena, Texas. After completing her education, she went to work at Ellington A.F. B., where she remained employed for fifteen years. She later worked at The Johnson Space Center— where she retired after two decades of employment there. She also took pride in knowing that all her children went to college and earned degrees. In 1966, Leo and Angie moved from Friendswood to Dickinson. Shortly after that move, she united with Mount Olive Baptist Church and began her service for God in earnest. Angie volunteered and served as a Youth Matron, Announcement Clerk, Mission #2 Member, Senior Choir Member, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and Senior Saints. She would tell anyone listening how much she loved her church and her church family. She also loved cooking, especially for her family. The more the merrier. Family and friends would never leave her home hungry. She welcomed everyone. On December 2, 2022, at Houston Methodist Debakey Heart and Vascular Center, Angie went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Evelyn Hill, nd her siblings: Ivey Geters, Thelma Dixon, Opal Hosea, Gloria Williams, Emma Lee Bimage, John Hill, Lawrence Hill, and Robert Hill. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: husband, Leo Bookman; sister, Viola Humphrey; children, Sandra Bookman (Savio), Bridget Walton, Angela Bimage (Anthony), Pamela Presley (Walter), and Leo Bookman, Jr. (Brooklyn); grandchildren: Niles Brantley, Brad Turner, Walter Presley, Jr., Waylon Presley, Shayla Bimage, Anderson Bookman, Chaiyah Bookman, and Brooks Bookman; niece, Carol Ann Hill and a host of beloved relatives and friends. Finally, her favorite Bible scripture is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
