God spoke to his beloved servant, Ceola “Bonnie” Winifred Hobbs, “today you will be with me in paradise”; and like an obedient servant; Ceola obeyed His call and joined our Father in heaven. Ceola was the second child, born September 21, 1938 to the late Viola (Smith) and Burel Hobbs, Sr., in League City, Texas. She attended and graduated from Dunbar High School, Dickinson, Texas in 1956. She studied cosmetology at Franklin Beauty School in Houston, Texas and received her Cosmetology License from the State of Texas. She worked as a Beautician and Hairstylist with her aunt, Reatha Mae King for many years. She also worked in the hospitality industry at Holiday Inn and King’s Inn in Nassau Bay. She then worked in the Clear Creek Independent School District until her retirement. Ceola was a dedicated, lifetime member of the Faith United Methodist Church serving as an active member of several church ministries: the United Methodist Women, the Usher Board, Youth Department and Vacation Bible School; she also regularly attended the Monday Morning “Golden Girls” Bible Study. She served steadfastly until her health would no longer allow her to serve in person. However, she mastered a successful telephone ministry where she kept in contact with church members, friends, and family members, and made certain that cards were sent to all who needed a birthday greeting or sympathy card in their loss. Ceola was a very kind, loving, and special person. She had a special way with people; always displaying love and compassion for everyone. She was always willing to assist anyone who was in need of help, doing all that she was able to do. She had an endless amount of devoted friends, and family whose lives she touched in so many ways and she will be genuinely and lovingly missed by all. Ceola was the devoted mother to one daughter, Dina Hobbs Griffin, sister to Earlene Ina, Burel Hobbs, Jr., Helen Weir, and Doris Harris, and the daughter of Viola and Burel, Hobbs Sr who all preceded her in death. Now all experiencing a heavenly reunion. Ceola is survived by her grandsons Ronny Jr. and Ryan Griffin; her devoted loving nieces, Damita Gray (Larry) and Delayna Gilmore (Joseph), Kim and Karen Ina; nephews, Keith Guyton (Maureen), and Patrick Hobbs, Sr.; brother-in-law, Joe Weir; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
