Curtis McArthur Galloway, Sr., a beloved figure in both our family and community, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 13, 2023, at the age of 78. Curtis was born to the late Coreainer Blueitt and Nathaniel Galloway on April 5, 1945. He grew up in Galveston, Texas, and graduated from Central High School in 1963, a testament to his commitment to education. Later, he served his country with honor as a member of the Marine Corps from 1969 to 1975. Curtis retired from Amoco Oil after over 25 years, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. His professional achievements were a source of pride for him and his family. Curtis had a zest for life and a deep passion for golfing which was not just a hobby, but a course of solace and connection. He spent countless hours on the greens, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed the serenity of the golf course. His culinary skills were legendary and his love for cooking was evident in every delicious meal he prepared. His kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort where family and friends gathered to savor his delectable creations. Entertaining was in Curtis’s blood. He had a knack for making people feel welcome and valued. From intimate dinners to lively gatherings, he had the extraordinary ability to turn any occasion into a memoriable celebration. And of course, Curtis was an unwavering supporter of the Green Bay Packers. Sundays were a sacred time for him as he cheered on his favorite team. His dedication to the Packers was a testament to his loyalty and passion. Curtis brought love and joy into the lives of those around him. He is survived by his sister, Georgia Caldwell; four children, Yolanda Galloway, Curtis Galloway, Tara Galloway-McClarity, and Brian Galloway; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Lewis, Jaylen Galloway, John Harrison, Tieara Galloway, Cheron Galloway, Trey Galloway, Brinae Galloway, Brennan Beall, Coreyon Taylor, Je’Tara McClarity and Joshua McClarity; great-grandchildren, Journi Galloway, Taliyah Brown, MalayaBrown, and Imani Galloway; and a host of special friends, greatnieces and nephews, cousins, and devoted neighbor, Robert, who will always remember his love, guidance, and the countless happy moments they shared. Curtis will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
