Edward Dean “Chubby” Elie Jr. was born on the 26th day of February 1983 as the second child to Edward D. Elie Sr. (Denton, Tx) and Sherri Jackson Hall of Houston, Tx. Edward grew up attending Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor James A. Kennedy. He was a member of the drill team, youth choir and youth department. He was under the watch care of Pastor Roderick M. Cunningham and the New Jerusalem Baptist Church until his death. He was educated in the Dickinson Independent School district. He was a member of the Dickinson High Football team and Marching Band. He was employed by Evergreen Industrial services as a hydro blaster until his health failed. On November 23, 2024, Chubby married his sweetheart Julie L. Bradley Chubby was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He also enjoyed playing disc golf with his childhood friends. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Dickinson VFD. Chubby was a huge LSU Tigers and Houston Texans fan. Every year he loved watching the Wings Over Houston Airshow, especially The Blue Angels, which were his favorite. Chubby was a private and quiet guy but once you got to know him, he was a fun-loving, and caring person. He was always cracking jokes. While going through his illness, he never lost his spirit. Chubby was a fighter to the very end. On Saturday March 15,2025, God called Edward “Chubby” Elie Jr. from labor to rest. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Aretta L. Jackson, and Lucy B. Whitfield; Uncle Walter “Skeet” Jackson; great aunt Lillie Whitfield. Left to Cherish his memories are his loving wife, Julie Bradley Elie of Houston, TX; mother & bonus father, Sherri J. Elie Sr. of Denton, TX; sisters, Lekisha Jackson, Pherron Elie of Dickinson, TX; brother, Joseph Elie of Houston, TX; sons, Chase Daniel Elie of Webster, TX, Devin Foreman of Channelview, TX; daughter, Skylynne Keller of Pasadena, TX; his mother-in-law, Shirley Bradley of Pasadena, TX; father-in-law, Rickey Bradley (Debi) of Alvin, TX; grandfather, Walter Jackson of Dickinson, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela Hutson, Wendy Bradley, Richard Bradley of South Houston; aunts and uncles, Cynthia Barnett (Michael) of Dickinson, Consuella Jackson of Webster, TX; nieces, Aubrey Compton, Allie Hutson; nephews, Kaiden Compton, Alvan Corpus, Nathaniel Corpus; grandchildren, AAziah Coronado, Noah Coronado, Elijah Coronado, Aryella Coronado, Kenzie Gonzales, Cash Carpio. He also leaves a host of other family and friends to cherish his memories.
