Jacquelyn Delores Williams, chosen before the foundation of the world to receive the gift of Grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Born in Huntsville, Texas on November 27, 1952, to Arthur and Dorothy Williams. Jackie entered eternal rest on March 22, 2026. Jackie attended public schools in La Marque, Texas where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970. Jackie was a graduate of Prairie View A & M where she was honored by the President and faculty for having excelled scholastically for consistently maintaining a high-grade point average. Jacqueline Delores Williams, known to her colleagues as Jackie Williams, began her career in Galveston Independent School District on August 18, 1975, at Central Middle School. She taught 8th grade mathematics for most of her career at Central and served as the Math Department Head. Jackie demanded excellence from her students, and she cultivated her passion for excellence among her math team. She made sure her math teachers had opportunities to learn and grow. She found the resources to ensure that they had first-rate professional learning experiences. She was a developer of her math teachers. She worked side by side with them making sure that they felt secure in the delivery of their content. She spent countless hours analyzing mathematics performance data and developing resources to help teachers and students expand their knowledge. Jackie retired from teaching and serving as Central's Math Department Lead on June 4, 2010. After her retirement, she returned to the district in 2011 where she supported Weis Middle School as a Math Coach. In 2013, she transitioned to the Support Center where she worked until 2026. During her tenure as a District Math Coach, she coordinated instructional materials and professional development, mentored teachers, developed assessments, analyzed data, created videos to help teachers with content, served as a liaison between Texas Education Agency Math Committees and Region 4. She held everyone to high expectations. She was relentless in her desire to understand the rationale or purpose of any initiative. Teachers could count on her to be their advocate. Her legacy at Galveston ISD includes scores of teachers who have benefited from her guidance, her infectious laugh, and her many generous acts of kindness to her work family and others. Jackie moved her Church membership to Bible Way Fellowship Baptist Church in 1999, later renamed ONEMOVEMENT Bible Church (OMBC). She served in The Evelyn McFarland College Fund Ministry that gave a monthly allowance to college students from OMBC. She served as Communications Leader in the Singles Ministry named “one4HIM”. God blessed Jackie with the gift of giving. She was very free hearted with her finances, always finding opportunities to show her love for others through giving. She organized and served as President of a social club named “The Black Ladies of Distinction” in the late seventies in the Galveston County area. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Beta Phi Omega Sorority. Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Williams, mother Dorothy Williams. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Bobby Williams and sister-in-law Mary Williams, her God child Caitlin Beafneaux and a host of cousins, friends and church members.
