On September 12, 1941 in Houma, Louisiana a beautiful baby girl was born to Johnny Albert Miller and Flora Dean Burns Miller. Johnnie was educated in the public schools of Delhi, Louisiana, attending Esther Toombs High School. In the Spring of 1963, Johnnie was blessed with the birth of a beautiful daughter, Wanda Ann Miller. She later met and married the love of her life, Jimmie Lee Brown on August 19, 1963 in Delhi. To this union a wonderful son was born, Jimmy “Yogi” Brown. The family later moved to Texas City, Texas where Johnnie was a loyal wife, mother and homemaker. She later began her employment at Pilgrim Cleaners in La Marque, Galveston and Houston where she was a Quality Assurance Manager. She united with Greater Barbour’s Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor H. A. Ratcliff, Jr. She later united with The Fellowship Church in Texas City under Bishop Delbert Herrin and continued to serve under Pastor Kevin Herrin. Johnnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with family, cooking, fishing, shopping, traveling, gardening and most importantly talking. These special times brought great joy and laughter to her life and would always put a smile on her face. On April 19, 2023, God called his child, Johnnie B. Brown, home to her eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Albert Miller and Flora Dean Miller; her husband Jimmie Lee Brown; sisters Gladys Nagel, Bobbie Bradley; and brothers Johnny Albert Miller, Jr., James Miller and Michael Miller. Left to cherish memories of her beautiful life are her beloved children, Jimmy “Yogi” Brown (Dr. Arlette Brown), Wanda Casey and Cheatara Williams; four grandchildren, JaMaal “Jay” Brooks,. Bryce Brown, Maya Brown and Jayden Rene’; brother and sisters, Stanley Miller (Necy) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Margaret Finney (Joe) of Inglewood, California, Cora Finex of Fontana, California, Thelma Lockett (Ernest) of Brenham, Texas, Eassie Miller of Texas City, Texas, Baby Ruth Williams (Alvin) and Linda Miller all of Fontana, California; special niece Patricia “Trixie” Brown of Galveston, Texas; special sister-in-law, Pat Barbin of Texas City, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
