Timothy A. Shannon

Timothy Arnold was born to Alfred Shannon, Sr. and Clara Simmons Shannon on October 17, 1962, in Galveston Texas. “Tim” as he was lovingly called, was born into a large sibling circle of love. Being number six of eight children, he shared a special bond with his siblings. He was an outgoing child that grew up to be an outgoing Man. Tim was a product of the La Marque Independent School District, graduating with the Class of 1982. He was a proud “Cougar”. After high school Tim entered the work arena where he utilized his work ethic through various Jobs, Texas Super, Mainland Center Hospital, and Texas City Independent School District to name a few. He was a “Jack of all Trades”, and he would help in every area that he could. In his later days he could be found detailing cars, mowing and landscaping yards. Tim was just an all-around good Man that enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was always kind to everyone that he met. He was so proud when he became a father and Loved his daughter unconditionally. Just as his sweet mother took care of him as a child, he reciprocated that same love by becoming the caregiver to his 94-year-old mother. Tim was baptized at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Dr. D. N. Benford, Sr. He was a lifelong member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church where he once served in the Brotherhood and sang in the Male Chorus. Timothy Arnold Shannon, our beloved father, son, grandfather, brother and uncle will be tremendously missed but we will always remember him and his favorite quote “I Got This”. On December 13, 2024, God saw fit to bring Tim’s life to a close at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father, Alfred Shannon, Sr.; brother, Anthony Shannon, Sr.; nephew, Eric Fields and numerous other relatives. Left to cherish his wonderful memories: his daughter, Cherrelle Evans; his mother, Clara Shannon; his grandchildren, Zyan, Zhyria, Zayden, and Zylia; his sisters, Sheryl Shannon, Girtha Fields (Michael), and Barbara Bell (Howard); his brothers, Alfred Shannon, Jr., Tony Shannon, Sr. (Vickie), and Craig Shannon, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
