All attending services are asked to please wear a mask ________________________ A Life Well Lived Versia Dotson was born on August 24,1934, to the late Amy Lee Bailey in Navasota, Texas. She was the first born of six children. Versia was blessed with a large and loving family. She married the love of her life, Leon M. Dotson on March 6,1953. The Dotson’s settled in Texas City and formed a family which included their seven children. Versia was a jack of all trades. She worked as an Environmental Technician throughout the Galveston County area, Robco Services, Galveston County Memorial Hospital as a cook, and for Klay Holt Janitorial Services. She also was a seamstress, and opened her own business; “Two Sisters Arts & Crafts”, in La Marque. She was most proud of being a homemaker, caring for her husband and children. Versia accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas. It was here where she started the Nurses Aide Ministry and served on the culinary committee. Versia was a founding member of the Community Christian Club, where she instilled Christianity within the community. Versia was a two time breast cancer survivor as well as a survivor of kidney cancer. She was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. She had a way of making anyone that she encountered feel like they were her favorite. Versia is preceded in death by her husband, Leon M. Dotson; her son, Lonnie C. Dotson Sr.; son-in-law, Gregory Hall ; daughter-in-law, Stacy Dotson; sister, Joyce Wilkins; niece, Tonya Marie Myers; nephew, Ernest Brow; and great grandchildren; Jarvis and D’Asia Chambers. Versia leaves a legacy of love and inspiration to cherish her joyful memories. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barney Dotson, Dwayne Dotson (Patsy), Dwight Dotson, Sheila Dotson Hall, Curtis Dotson and Rev. Malcolm Dotson, Sr. (Cynthia); daughter-in-law, Arlette Dotson; her sisters, Brendy Joyce Myers, Verlena Johnson and Amy Brow; brother; Homer Bailey Jr.; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and devoted friend; Willie Mae Watkins.
