Alfred Dawson was born a twin on February 4,1943 to the parents of Delia and Joe Dawson. Alfred accepted Christ at an early age, joining the Saint Simon Missionary Baptist Church located in Cloutierville, Louisiana where the family of 8 members lived. Springhill Elementary School in Chopin, Louisiana was the beginning of his education. After 4 years of study at Saint Matthew High School, located in Derry, Louisiana, Alfred graduated in 1961. Upon graduating from high school, Alfred enrolled at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. In 1965, he graduated with a major in Chemistry and a double minor in Mathematics and General Science. Following his college graduation, Alfred was employed by the Morehouse Parish School system in Bastrop, Louisiana as a Chemistry teacher from 1965-1971. Leaving the teaching profession, Alfred relocated to Houston, Texas and was hired as a Chemical Analyst with Amoco Chemical Corporation (Chocolate Bayou) in Alvin, Texas and worked there until his retirement at the age of 55. Amazingly, God had already decided the path that Alfred would take in his life. He and Lillie met at Grambling University and they both accepted teaching jobs in Bastrop, Louisiana. Preceding him in death are his parents, Mother Delia Dawson, father Joe Dawson. Twin sisters, Ruth Dawson Clay and Ruby Dawson Vital. Left to mourn are his devoted and loving wife, Lillie Dawson, his 2 children, son Alan Dawson, (wife Michelle), League City, Texas, daughter Chanda Dawson Eager, (husband Sam), League City, Texas. Four grandchildren, Alana Dawson, Jordan Eager, Sean Eager and Diane Melton all in Houston, Texas. One great-grandson, Cruz Alan. Also mourning his passing is his twin sister Alma Dawson (Houston, Texas), twin sisters Delia Anita Dawson Clark (Houston, Texas) and Delethe Anita Dawson (Moline, Illinois). Nephew, Chris Clark, Nieces Karen Clay, and Erin Dawson. Along with many other family members and a host of friends. And now Alfred and Lillie’s earthly path has ended. I am so thankful that I met my man, Mr. Alfred Dawson, my love and my companion for life. I will miss you, my love!!!
