Callie “Bigmama” Solomon Callie Mae Moody, known to many as Sister Solomon, to her family “Bigmama”, was born in Harrison County Tx, to Otis Moody and Virginia Hulitt-Moody. She attended public schools in Karnack, TX. Our beloved Callie Solomon, 83 of Hitchcock, TX, transitioned to her heavenly home Monday June 24, 2024 while at home under the care of AccentCare Hospice, her grandson Joseph and wife Destiny Richardson. Callie married Paul Jenkins, and in that union two children, Reginald “Dwayne” and Paula Jenkins were born. She later on remarried Ferdnan Solomon, in that union came Jeffrey Solomon, Barbara Joyce, and Sharon Oyeniyi. Callie worked along side her husband in their family business Solomon Salvage Hauling inc. Callie was a God fearing woman who loved her family and friends dearly. She accepted Christ at an early age. Callie was a very active member of New Macedonia Baptist Church of Hitchcock, TX, for 30 plus years. There she was a faithful member of mission and Sunday school. She also served on the usher board and housekeeping of the church until her health started to decline. She gave selfless to those she knew and loved. She took on the role “mother” to many. A strong praying missionary woman of God, she was. Callie is preceded in death by her parents Otis and Virginia Moody. Mother in christ Minnie Kimble. Grandparents Carrie and Charlie Hulitt. Husband Ferdnan Solomon. Son Jeffrey Solomon, Daughters Paula Richardson and Barbara Joyce. Brothers Otis “OC” Moody, Leroy Moody and a special friend Joe B.
