Celebration of Life for Kimberly Collins October 31, 1961 – October 2, 2025 With deep love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Kimberly Collins, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Kimberly’s journey through life was a testimony of faith, resilience, and creativity. Born on October 31, 1961, Kimberly was a woman of grace and strength whose faith in God carried her through life’s challenges. In her own words, she shared: “Being me has not been an easy journey. Loving myself has been a process that I am so grateful to God. My faith has been my rock.” These words reflect the essence of her spirit, which was grounded in love, hope, and determination. Kimberly received her formal education in the public schools of LaMarque, Texas and was a proud graduate of LaMarque High School - Class of 1980. She received her Christian foundation in McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church in LaMarque where she worshipped with her grandmother, mother and other family members. Kimberly’s gifts were many, but one of her greatest was her artistry. She was a naturally talented freehand artist who expressed herself with vibrant colors and soulful imagery. Her art captured both beauty and truth, leaving behind a visual legacy that will continue to inspire. Over the years, Kimberly created remarkable pieces that reflected not only her creativity but also her spirit. Her artwork remains a lasting treasure for all who had the blessing of seeing it. Above all, Kimberly’s pride and joy were her two children, Sheridan Harrold and Miles Collins. She also shared her life journey with her lifelong companion and friend, Richard Irving, whose love and support remained constant throughout her years. She was the cherished daughter of the late Maurine Collins and Edgar Collins, Jr., and she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Irene Cohen, Frank York, Edgar Collins, Sr., Thomasine Collins; her aunt, Helen Prophet. Kimberly is also survived by her siblings, Tony Cohen and Kirk Collins (LaDonna); her aunt, Ida Davis, her grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. Kimberly’s life was a tapestry of love, art, faith, and devotion to family. Those who knew her will always remember her radiant smile, her kind spirit, and her ability to share love in every season of life. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate Kimberly’s remarkable journey. Though her earthly journey has ended, Kimberly’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." – 2 Corinthians 5:8
