Norris D. Burkley Professional Services was established in March of 2022, after much prayer and direction from wise counsel. Serving families will always been our focus while making sure its tailored to meet there needs. We take pride in being able to guide people through some of their most difficult days. We take pride in maintaining a setting that allows people to find solace. Celebrating life is our mission. That will never changed. And with pride, it never will.

John is a native of Houston, Texas, reared in Port Arthur, Texas and a product of the LaMarque Independent School District where he is a proud member of the GREATEST Class of LMHS - The Class of 1984. John is a 1987 graduate of Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas and has been licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Texas since 1987. John is an active member of Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock, Texas under the leadership of Pastor - Dr. William L. Randall, Jr. He is active in several ministries of the church including the Usher Board and Education Ministry. Not only active in the church, but John is an dedicated member of the Prince Hall Masonic Family. He is a longtime member of LaMarque Lodge #373 where he serves as Secretary; member of the Holy Royal Arch, Royal and Select Master, Knights of Templar; Ramona Chapter #25 Norris Wright Cuney Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star; member, Lakeview Court #262 Heroines of Jericho; Past Grand Joshua of the Grand High Court Heroines of Jericho - State of Texas. He is also a founding member of the LaMarque Alumni Association where he served as the first president; the founder of the Mainland Interdenominational Ushers, Nurses and Greeters Union; and a member of the "Men of 84". John began working at the funeral home at the age 10 at Moody Harris Funeral Home in Port Arthur and has never worked in any other profession.
